Key Responsibilities :

Estate Planning :

  • Draft, review, and finalize estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and advance directives.
  • Advise clients on estate planning strategies to achieve their financial and personal objectives.
  • Develop customized estate plans that minimize tax liabilities and ensure the efficient transfer of assets.

Probate Administration :

  • Handle all aspects of probate administration, including filing petitions, managing estate inventories, and preparing accountings.
  • Represent clients in probate court proceedings.
  • Guide executors and beneficiaries through the probate process, ensuring compliance with state laws and court requirements.

Client Consultation :

  • Conduct initial consultations with clients to assess their estate planning needs and objectives.
  • Provide ongoing advice and support to clients regarding their estate plans and any updates required due to changes in law or personal circumstances.
  • Maintain strong client relationships through regular communication and follow-ups.

Tax Planning and Compliance :

  • Advise clients on the tax implications of their estate plans and strategies to minimize estate and gift taxes.
  • Prepare and review estate tax returns and related documents.
  • Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations affecting estate planning.

Legal Research and Continuing Education :

  • Conduct legal research to stay current with developments in probate and estate planning law.
  • Attend continuing legal education (CLE) seminars and workshops to enhance legal knowledge and skills.
  • Contribute to the firm’s knowledge base by sharing insights and best practices with colleagues.

Qualifications : Education :

Education :

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in the state of Florida.

Experience :

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in estate planning and probate law, preferably in Florida.
  • Proven track record of successfully handling probate and estate planning cases.
