As a Sr Science Marketing Writer in the Illumina Creative Lab, you’ll work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate deeply with visual designers and subject matter experts to manage multiple projects from concept to publication.
You will lead the development of marketing materials that support the use of microarray and sequencing technologies used to study genetic variation and function for both research and diagnostic applications.
Job Responsibilities
Write, edit, and authenticatepersona- and product-based scientific promotional materials, including product data sheets, technical notes, educational materials, newsletter articles, and web-based communications independently
Manage multiple projects from concept to publication under tight deadlines and changing conditions, with support from a project management team
Provide clear, detailed direction for the development of illustrations and supporting figures
Lead efficient collaboration with Creative Lab members, product owners, and other stakeholders to produce the most efficient outcomes of various engagements
Ensure adherence to brand verbal and visual guidelines
Learn and apply new tools, processes, and scientific information quickly
Give and receive direct feedback
Occasional travel required
Job Requirements
5+ years of experience in scientific marketing writing or similar
Advanced degree in biology, molecular biology, genetics, or other life science field
An online portfolio of writing samples
A collaborative and curious mindset
Knowledge of scientific terminology, principles, and publishing standards
Superior project and time management skills, excellent organization, and unfailing attention to detail and quality
Exceptional grammatical, writing, and editorial skills and English proficiency
Practical life sciences lab experience preferred
Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and working with an enterprise content management system are a plus
Commercial experience in a life sciences company is a plus
The estimated base salary range for the Senior Science Writer role based in the United States of America is : $96,500 - $144,700.
Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable base pay range may be updated accordingly.
Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
