The Cybersecurity Analyst is responsible for protecting an organization’s computer networks and systems from cyber threats.
This role involves monitoring network traffic, identifying vulnerabilities, and responding to security breaches in real time.
The Cybersecurity Analyst collaborates with IT teams to implement security measures, assess potential risks, and ensure compliance with security policies and regulations.
The position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of cybersecurity practices and technologies.
Key Responsibilities :
- Monitor and analyze network traffic, system logs, and alerts to detect and respond to cybersecurity threats, including malware, phishing attacks, and unauthorized access.
- Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration testing to identify potential weaknesses in the organization’s systems and networks.
- Develop and implement security measures and protocols, such as firewalls, encryption, and access controls, to protect sensitive data and ensure system integrity.
- Investigate and respond to security incidents, coordinating with IT teams to contain and mitigate the impact of breaches.
- Conduct root cause analysis of security incidents, documenting findings and recommending strategies to prevent future occurrences.
- Stay informed of emerging cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices, and apply this knowledge to strengthen the organization’s security posture.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of security regulations, such as GDPR, HIPAA, and PCI-DSS, to ensure compliance with applicable laws and standards.
- Collaborate with IT, legal, and compliance teams to create and update security policies, procedures, and disaster recovery plans.
- Perform risk assessments and provide recommendations for improving security infrastructure and reducing exposure to potential cyberattacks.
- Provide training and awareness programs for employees to promote best practices in cybersecurity and reduce the risk of social engineering attacks.
- Research and evaluate new security technologies and tools that can enhance the organization’s defenses against cyber threats.
- Assist in the design, testing, and implementation of incident response plans, ensuring the organization is prepared to handle security breaches effectively.
- Ensure timely patching and updating of software, hardware, and systems to protect against known vulnerabilities and threats.
- Participate in security audits, both internal and external, to evaluate the organization’s compliance with cybersecurity standards and regulations.
- Prepare detailed reports and documentation on security incidents, threat analyses, and mitigation efforts to communicate findings to management and stakeholders.
- Perform other cybersecurity-related tasks as necessary to support the ongoing security of the organization’s systems and data.
