Municipal Utility Engineer

This position supports Municipal Utility Districts and other special utility districts as part of Pape-Dawson's District Services Group. Under the direction of a licensed professional engineer (P.E.), this role is responsible for technical execution of engineering tasks, coordination with project stakeholders, and preparation of reports and documents to support District operations and development projects.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain Capital Improvement Plans (CIP) to support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning.
• Lead the preparation of bond applications, feasibility studies, and supporting documents.
• Independently prepare Alternate Capacity Requests (ACRs), Re-rates, and Emergency Preparedness Plans (EPPs).
• Conduct reviews of development plans, plats, and construction drawings for compliance with District and regulatory standards.
• Assist with construction oversight activities, including site visits, progress monitoring, and review of contractor pay applications.
• Support coordination with developers, consultants, and regulatory agencies (e.g., County, DOT).
• Draft engineering reports and provide input for Board meeting presentations.
• Prepare exhibits, bid lists, and technical specifications for construction documents.
• Provide timely technical support during urgent infrastructure issues such as water main breaks or sanitary excursions.
• Manage assignments with minimal oversight, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
