Job Summary

Serve as the senior-most corporate engagement professional within a college, Interdisciplinary Research Institute (IRI), or other Georgia Tech (GT) unit with college-level or Institute-wide focus and serve as the primary point-of-contact between the campus Office of Corporate Engagement (OCE) and the Strategic Energy Institute's leadership.

Provide support for a specific unit and support of that unit's leadership while also providing mutual benefits between corporate partners and the entire GT campus and enterprise through business development results.

Lead other corporate-facing personnel within assigned unit. Responsible for increasing corporate investments in research, philanthropic support, fee-based unitization of university resources / equipment, professional & executive education, and licensing.

Contribute to economic development efforts through the promotion of corporate attraction into Georgia and through promotion of Georgia-based startups.

This position will interact on a regular basis with : Unit leadership, other OCE colleagues, unit-based corporate-facing personnel, and Institute-wide staff.

This position typically will advise and counsel : Deans, IRI directors, and unit-based corporate-facing personnel. This position will supervise : Assigned staff.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -

Lead corporate engagement efforts within a college, IRI(s) or other GT unit with college-level or GT-enterprise-wide focus or mission.

Job Duty 2 -

Serve as the primary point-of-contact between OCE and the unit's leadership (dean, director, etc.) on matters related to corporate engagement and business development.

Job Duty 3 -

Perform fundraising, business development, and revenue generation including sponsored research, executive and professional education, utilization of university resources, licensing, and other forms of revenue from corporate partners for the assigned unit and for the balance of the GT enterprise.

Job Duty 4 -

Contribute to economic development through by promoting Georgia, Atlanta, and startups to corporate partners.

Job Duty 5 -

Manage relationships for a corporate partner portfolio capable of generating $1M / year or more per relationship.

Job Duty 6 -

Ensure coordination of corporate partner engagements within the assigned unit and with other units at GT.

Job Duty 7 -

Work with corporate-facing partners within GT, including the Office of Corporate & International Contracting / Exchange Agreements, GT Foundation, Career Center, Office of Commercialization ' Office of Technology Licensing, and Professional Education towards the successful negotiation, resolution of issues, and execution of agreements.

Job Duty 8 -

Supervise and mentor corporate-facing staff within the college or unit.

Job Duty 9 -

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements

Bachelor's degree with in a technical or business discipline.

Required Experience

Eight to ten years job related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Educational Qualifications

Master's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Experience

Corporate engagement experience in a university environment and / or relevant experience in sales, marketing, and relationship management or other related fields.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

KNOWLEDGE

Key to success will be documented experience and understanding of issues related to university-industry engagement including sponsored research agreements, gifts agreements, publication rights, and Intellectual Property.

SKILLS

Data analysis skills.
