IT Intern
SUMMER 2025
Location : Greenville, SC
Summary
NHE’s full-time IT summer intern program offers college students the opportunity to learn how to utilize their information technology skills within the property management / real estate industry.
This internship allows IT students to apply their skills and gain valuable experience. The IT intern will work in the Corporate Office and interact with employee from all business units.
- 10-week internship, 30-40 hours for full-time summer program
- Eligible participants must be currently pursuing an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
- Proficient in MS Office Programs (specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
- This position will report to Human Resources in the Corporate Office in Greenville, SC, but may take direction from the IT Manager or other IT personnel during their time at NHE.
- The selected candidate will have the potential for future internship and other full-time employment opportunities with NHE, Inc.
once they have successfully completed their internship and education.
The intern may travel to multiple apartment communities in the upstate of SC.
The ideal candidate should have a positive attitude, strong work ethic, be reliable and self-motivated with good communication skills and attention to detail.
Must have the ability to work with little direction maintaining confidentiality and professionalism. Through the program, the intern will use Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook, and will be exposed to Yardi Voyager Property Management Software and other platforms.
Internship Summer Project
Interns may be assigned one or more projects to work on and complete throughout the summer. Interns may be required to prepare and present project work findings and / or recommendations, utilizing Microsoft PowerPoint and Office Suite, to senior management.
I. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Compile cost projections for IT hardware and licensing
- Review user login reports to detect anomalies like an account take over or privilege / permission elevation
- Serve as the first point of contact for customers seeking technical assistance over the phone or email and direct unresolved issues to the next level of support personnel
- Provide technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware used at NHE.
- Perform remote troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques, ask pertinent questions, and listen to customers to determine root cause and the best solution based on the issue and details provided by the customers
- Walk the customer through the problem-solving process
- Follow up with customers to ensure issue has been resolved.
- Provide accurate information on IT products or services
- Record events and problems and update ticket / customer status and information and their resolution in logs / software
- Assist in FAQs creation and management to add channels of support
- Gain knowledge of and pass on any feedback or suggestions by customers on NHE system usage or procedures to the appropriate internal team
- Identify and suggest possible improvements on procedures
- Assist in writing and maintaining training manuals.
- Install, modify, and repair computer hardware and software.
- Clean outside of computers and devices prior to deployment.
- Ensure all devices are wiped of NHE data and appropriately discarded and recycled / donated whenever possible
- Resolve technical problems with Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), and other systems.
- Install computer, peripheral, cables, and wiring of devices for users.
- Create step-by-step training material with screenshots for clients
- Assist in maintaining document storage on NHE website and intranet
