Property Accountant

Position Description :

The Property Accountant will be responsible for accounting support functions for the Commercial Management portfolio. The position will report to the Controller.

Principal Responsibilities :

  • Work with property management to achieve core business operating metrics
  • Identify financial statement variances and the operational impact that created them during consistent financial reviews
  • Complete weekly bank account, monthly loan account and balance sheet reconciliations and provide solutions to discrepancies
  • Manage recurring journal entries for accrual accounts and year end balances
  • Tenant ledger management, perform financial move outs and provide solutions to the onsite management requests
  • Resolve property specific irregularities or operational issues found during property reviews
  • Approve payable invoices weekly based on cash analysis
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications :

  • Bachelors Degree in finance or accounting
  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • Entrata and Yardi experience a plus
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with ability to explain complex concepts
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, including ability to build complex Excel worksheets is a plus
  • Ability to learn and use technology for reporting and data analysis
  • Attention to detail, analytical mindset and ability to work independently or in a team environment
