Position Description :
The Property Accountant will be responsible for accounting support functions for the Commercial Management portfolio. The position will report to the Controller.
Principal Responsibilities :
- Work with property management to achieve core business operating metrics
- Identify financial statement variances and the operational impact that created them during consistent financial reviews
- Complete weekly bank account, monthly loan account and balance sheet reconciliations and provide solutions to discrepancies
- Manage recurring journal entries for accrual accounts and year end balances
- Tenant ledger management, perform financial move outs and provide solutions to the onsite management requests
- Resolve property specific irregularities or operational issues found during property reviews
- Approve payable invoices weekly based on cash analysis
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications :
- Bachelors Degree in finance or accounting
- Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience
- Entrata and Yardi experience a plus
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
- Strong written and oral communication skills with ability to explain complex concepts
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, including ability to build complex Excel worksheets is a plus
- Ability to learn and use technology for reporting and data analysis
- Attention to detail, analytical mindset and ability to work independently or in a team environment
