Position Summary
The Information Technology group maintains the computer hardware and networks of McCormick Taylor. Our goal is to provide our end users prompt technical support, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of technology throughout the company.
Under the direction of the Senior Technician and using established processes and procedures, the Technician II will triage and resolve end user trouble tickets submitted through a web-based HelpDesk platform.
This is a hybrid position, with the ability to work both in-person and remote. This position is expected to have multiple days per week in-person.
Technical support to end users is provided both onsite and remotely over the phone, chat or via email. This position also monitors and maintains company computer systems including the installation and configuration of hardware, software, and peripherals.
Job Requirements
Responsibilities
- Provide timely and efficient resolution for Help Desk service tickets
- Offer daily operations and system support to personnel
- Install and configure computer hardware, peripherals, software, systems
- Verify functionality of computer systems, software, copy / print systems, and connectivity
- Test new technologies
- Maintain accurate documentation of IT procedures
- Maintain accurate equipment schedules for deployed hardware
- Manage companywide copier, printer fleet and managed print services
- Create, plan and carry out end user webinar-based training sessions on various IT related topics
- Assess company technology on a regular basis to ensure it continues to meet necessary demands
- Offer suggestions for possible upgrades and technology changes
Qualifications
- 3 to 5 years of recent computer, software and connectivity troubleshooting experience
- BSc / BA in IT, Computer Science or relevant field
- Must be resourceful and able to take initiative in a dynamic environment
- Ability to diagnose and resolve technical problems effectively and efficiently
- Advanced knowledge of current Microsoft Office 365 Suite and computer hardware
- Familiarity with network troubleshooting
- Professional customer service skills
- Ability and willingness to work in an environment providing 24x7x365 support
- Ability to travel to various company offices as needed
