Human Resource Coordinator
Assists the Director of Human Resources with all HR functions including hiring, onboarding, leaves of absences (including FMLA) separations and other duties as assigned.
Reporting to the Director of Human Resources.
Primary Purpose
Assists with all HR functions including hiring, onboarding, leaves of absences (including FMLA) separations. Performs administrative work of a complex nature independently, general office functions and related work as required.
Works cooperatively with other central office personnel.
Essential Function
- Coordinate recruitment efforts to attract qualified candidates for various positions within the school district.
- Recruits and maintains the daily substitute pool.
- Oversee hiring process with district administrators, including job postings, candidate screening, interview scheduling and reference checks.
- Collaborate with other departments to set up new employees with appropriate access to applicable district-used platforms and devices.
- Maintain HR databases and systems to track employee information
- Follow offboarding procedure.
- Provides orientation for new employees by providing information packets, reviewing MPS policies, and any other onboarding responsibilities as assigned by the HR Director.
- Answer questions from employees, applicants, and external stakeholders.
- Routinely handles highly sensitive and / or confidential information and will have extensive contact with internal staff members, outside agencies.
Additional Duties
Performs other related duties, as assigned, by the Director of Human Resources.
Equipment
Uses standard office equipment such as personal computer, copy machine, fax machine, telephone.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
- Principles and procedures of confidential record keeping
- Effective customer service practices
- Pertinent Federal, State, and local laws, codes and regulations
- Proficient computer skills, including the use of the employee portal (Frontline), Google, Excel, Word, and other various software programs necessary for performing assigned duties.
- Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Handle stressful situations
- Manage workload / deadlines, and work under pressure
- Maintain excellent organizational skills
- Follow instructions and work independently
Qualification Profile
Bachelor's degree or 5 or more years experience in an administrative / analytical role preferred.
Experience
- Successful experience working for municipal or school district organizations preferred.
- Full-time (12 month) position, hours based on registration needs
