We are in search of a diligent Staff Accountant to join our team in the Government industry based in San Antonio, Texas. In this role, you will primarily be responsible for ensuring timely payments and accurate recording of revenues, maintaining vendor relationships, and managing various accounting functions.

Responsibilities :

• Act as the primary contact point for all accounts payable, ensuring accurate coding and conversion of requisitions into receivers.
• Oversee the process of converting receivers into AP invoices and selecting invoices for payment.
• Be responsible for the establishment and maintenance of vendor relationships, addressing any unpaid balances, and maintaining contracts.
• Accurately enter cash receipts into the accounting system and apply these receipts to the appropriate open accounts receivable when necessary.
• Monitor and enter all payments made via EFT or ACH.
• Post certain monthly journal entries including credit card postings, certain bank entries, and intercompany program purchases.
• Create ad hoc invoices for event sponsorships as required.
• Manage company purchasing card maintenance and company cell phone maintenance.
• Accurately input program / project timesheet allocations into the Salary Allocation spreadsheet each pay period.
• Adhere to safety training and protocols, taking precautionary measures to ensure the safety and well-being.
• Maintain the confidentiality of any information or material obtained in the service with the organization.
• Complete all required professional development assignments in a timely manner.
• Minimum of three years of experience in accounting or a related field
• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) management
• Experience with General Ledger maintenance and reconciliation
• Proficiency in creating and managing Journal Entries
• Experience with Month End Close procedures
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for accounting purposes
• Experience with Sage Intacct software
• Ability to accurately process Accounting Entries
• Knowledge of standard Accounting Functions
• Must have a valid work permit or be a legal resident
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
