The position is a senior leadership role within Truist’s Capital Adequacy and Resolution Planning division, focusing on programmatic enhancements to Truist’s capital and resolution planning processes.

The position will lead cross-functional efforts to enhance Truist’s enterprise-wide Capital Planning efforts, including identifying and implementing opportunities to align with industry best practices and evolving supervisory expectations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the development, organization, planning, and implementation of strategic change and transformational initiatives related to Truist’s enterprise-wide Capital Planning program, including the annual Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review ( CCAR ) and related Capital Plan submission and related stress testing activities.
  • Represent the Capital and Resolution Planning team, as needed, on Truist enterprise-wide strategic projects within Truist Enterprise Change & Transformation operating model (i.

e., governance, cadences, and processes); provide leadership as a subject matter expert to serve as single point of contact for the Capital and Resolution Planning team.

  • Leverage proven understanding of regulatory requirements and expectations to build robust, sustainable practices and methodologies for Truist’s Capital Planning and related areas (including risk identification and scenario design, estimation methodology governance, forecast review and governance and results aggregation and summarization).
  • Advise senior management on prioritization and effective implementation through clear guidance on objectives and project priorities, execution of project plan, analysis of downstream impacts and risks, escalation and effective challenge of project issues, and mitigation recommendations.
  • Lead key elements of Truist's capital stress-testing activities, including CCAR / Dodd-Frank Act Stress Test (DFAST) stress testing;

activities include stress test coordination, overarching controls and governance, development of the Annual Capital Plan and regulatory submission of all required elements.

  • Manage capital planning program requirements in line with enterprise risk governance standards, including committee reporting standards, policy and procedure requirements and other governance requires as necessary.
  • Manage and coordinate engagements with risk partners in the First, Second, and Third lines of defense for exams and reviews, to more efficiently provide documentation and responses to findings on behalf of process owners.
  • Support ongoing assessment of Truist’s practices relative to regulatory guidelines (e.g., SR 15-18) and other industry practices, and identify and oversee implementation of initiatives to enhance Truist’s practices and capabilities.
  • Active speaker and participant in key Executive-level Committee meetings, while also leading the compilation of presentation materials for the Board Risk Committee and supporting management-level committee meetings, and / or Executive Leadership meetings.
  • Engage business partners and Executive Leadership to develop relationships, meet business needs, and lead the integration of financial and strategic planning to support robust and cohesive financial risk decisions.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or related fields.
  • At least twelve years of senior level management experience that includes progressive supervisory responsibilities with experience leading high performing teams.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills, with experience building relationships across a complex, diverse organization.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of regulatory capital requirements, stress testing methodologies and financial forecasting techniques.
  • Proven success with managing high-impact transformative initiatives that involve multiple stakeholders across different organizational structures.
  • An in-depth understanding of mechanics and dynamic of bank balance sheets and associated exposures.
  • In depth knowledge of large bank regulatory framework and key constraints that drive balance sheet optimization.
  • Experience with developing forecasting approaches (models, EUCs) that meet regulatory and other stakeholder expectations.
  • Ability to build consensus across the organization through effective communication of complex subject matter.
  • Proven track record of leading change management initiatives while developing innovative solutions to large complex issues.
  • Extensive knowledge of banking products and lines of business.
  • Strong presentation skills and experience interacting with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience with incorporating automation and data science to improve efficiency across various functions.

Preferred Qualifications :

1. Advanced degree (e.g., masters) in Finance, Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or related fields.

2. Industry designations such as Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Financial Risk Manager (FRM).

3. Leadership in capital planning functions at a global systemically important bank (GSIB).
