We are seeking a dedicated Nurse Unit Manager to supervise the day-to-day nursing activities of the facility. Such supervision must be in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our facility, and asmay be required by the DON or Administrator, to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times.
The Nurse Unit Manager is responsible for managing the clinical care of residents by assigning different tasks to nurses within the department ensuringnursingcareisprovidedthroughassessment,implementation,andevaluationoftheplanofcare.

Nurse Unit Managers must have the following :
- NursingDegreeordiplomafromanaccreditedCollegeorUniversity.
- PossessacurrentlicensetopracticeintheStateasaRegisteredNurse or Licensed Practical Nurse
- 2+yearsofsupervisoryexperiencepreferred.
- Long-TermCareandMDSexperiencepreferred.
- Excellentwrittenandverbalcommunicationskills.
- Strong interpersonalandteamdevelopmentskills.
- Graciousandwelcomingpersonalityforcustomerserviceinteraction.
- Abilitytorelatepositively,effectively,andappropriatelywithresidents,families,community members, volunteer, and other facility staff.

- Mustbeavailableto24hoursadayon-callemergenciessupport.
- Possessspecialinterestin,andapositiveattitudeabout,workingwithshortandlong-termcare residents and the elderly.
- Mustbewillingtoparticipateinall-handsondining.
- Possessexcellent managementskillsincludingthedelegation ofresponsibility tosubordinates.
- Abilitytoread,writes,speak,andunderstandEnglish.
- Meetsallhealthrequirements,asrequiredbylaw.
- Demonstrate basic computer knowledge and ability with an aptitude to learn company applications.MicrosoftOfficeversion1997,2000orXP,MSWord,MSAccess,MSExcel,E-mail, Outlook, Internet Explorer.
- Performotherdutiesasassignedandconsistentwithlevelofpreparationandexperience.
As a skilled, compassionate Nurse Unit Manager, you will :
- Makesfrequentroundstonoteresident / patientconditionsandtoensurenursingpersonnelare performing their work assignments in accordance with acceptable nursing standards.
- Givesandreceivesthenursingreportuponreportinginandendingshiftdutyhours.
- Ensures assigned work area (i.e. nurse station, med. Cart, medication room, etc.), resident / patientcareroomsandtreatmentareasaremaintainedinacleanandsanitarymanner.
- Ensuresmedicationroomsandmedicationcartsarelockedaccordingtoregulation.
- Monitorssuppliesandordersasneeded.
AttendsregularlyconductedstaffmeetingsasscheduledbytheDirectorofNursing / Unit Manager.
Managesandparticipatesregularlyincontinuingeducationin-serviceprograms.
Assists the Directorof Nursing in directing the day-to-day functions of the nursingactivities in accordancewithcurrentrules,regulations,andguidelinesthatgovernthelong-termcarefacility.
