As the Staff Accountant , you will be responsible for completing a variety of accounting tasks in the areas of revenue management, financial reporting, document review and preparation, and monthly reconciliation.
The Staff Accountant will primarily be assigned accounts receivable, general ledger, and reconciliation tasks, ensuring accuracy and integrity of data and cash amounts in the general ledger and our accounting system.
In this position, you will assist the Manager of Accounting & Projects with day-to-day, monthly, and year-end operations of the Finance division related to revenue management, financial compliance, and audits.
Ongoing tasks related to the role involve processing and recording cash receipts activities, supporting the processing of functional and benefits expense allocations, monthly accruals, amortization of expenses, fixed asset depreciation and reconciliations, and recording, adjusting, and reclassifying journal entries for all entities managed by The Arc.
The ideal candidate will be someone who is solutions-oriented and has top-tier math skills, incredible attention to detail, good knowledge of accounting practices, and strong time management skills.
You must be able to work independent and collaboratively on a team.
This role requires a high school diploma or GED, though a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is strongly preferred.
This position also requires three years of general accounting experience, and experience with Maryland LTSS and other finance-related systems is a plus.
