THE ROLE The Director of Revenue Management will oversee a full-service hotel in downtown Seattle and will report to and work directly with the General Manager, with an indirect reporting line to the VP, Revenue at Aparium.

It is critical for the person in this position to possess advanced revenue management skills with an analytical mindset, thorough knowledge of hotel PMS, CRS and RMS, and previous experience as a Director of Revenue Management or a Senior Revenue Manager.

As the Director of Revenue Management, you will be responsible for all tasks related to driving Market Share and Revenue Performance through proper pricing, segmentation mix, and distribution management to exceed the hotels’ revenue goals.

You will proactively work with the Director of Sales, the marketing team, and the General Manager to clearly communicate the strategic vision and objectives on how to drive revenues and improve performance.

You will have the opportunity for input as you will be the expert in the field, and it is important that you are a task-oriented and a list-driven individual.

  • Uphold and role model the company’s principles of People, Place and Character; and ensure you are modeling the way of our values that drive collaboration, intuition and translocal hospitality
  • Have an advanced understanding of Revenue Management and lead the hotel’s yielding efforts, ensuring that all segments and distribution channels are mined weekly for all future dates for revenue opportunities based on budget, forecast, pace and market demand
  • Configure and manage key systems including revenue management system, central reservation system, property management system and the respective distribution platforms
  • Own the day-to-day revenue management of assigned hotels including reporting, rate loading, yielding and management of relevant systems to maximize all revenue opportunities.
  • Weekly and monthly forecasting and the development and presentation of the annual budget
  • Identify and communicate demand periods (high and low) for which a strategic plan is needed and executed
  • Provide analysis and ongoing review of competitive pricing trends and strategies and adjust accordingly to ensure RevPAR penetration and market leadership are met or exceeded
  • Develop strategies to achieve or exceed monthly RevPAR index goals
  • Review distribution channel performance to ensure OTA contribution is in line with or below budget expectations and opportunities to yield out these channels are deployed on an ongoing basis.
  • Work with the Director of Sales to ensure a defined rate quoting strategy is in place for the negotiated RFP season. Rates and strategy are to align with the budget expectations and analysis vs.

  • Ensure the accuracy and consistent management of all reservations activity and distribution content
  • Lead weekly revenue management strategy meetings with the hotel team to review performance and strategic action items to improve performance.
  • Ensure that room and rate availability are 100% accurate in all channels in accordance with demand and pre-determined RMS yielding strategy for an ongoing 12-month period.
  • Prepare and present results and strategies to senior leadership teams, including owners and Aparium team. Be fluent and articulate with enhanced presentation skills.
  • Demonstrate a high degree of drive and determination and the willingness to complete tasks and projects as assigned by the General manager or Aparium Revenue Management team.
  • Perform all accountabilities in a timely and efficient manner, following established policies and projecting a favorable image of the home office to achieve objectives, public recognition, and acceptance

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of four (4) years’ experience in revenue management
  • Completion of four-year college degree
  • Advance Microsoft Excel knowledge
  • Must possess computer skills and detailed knowledge of various programs, including but not limited to a thorough knowledge of Hotel RMS, CRS, GDS and PMS.

Preferred system knowledge of IDeaS RMS, Infor HMS and Windsurfer CRS

  • Adaptable interpersonal skills to communication and address all employee levels of the hotel
  • Professional proficiency of the English language in reading, writing and verbal communication

SALARY : $100,000 - 110,000
