Position Summary :

The Registered Nurse (RN) manages the episode of patient care in partnership with persons, care givers, groups and other providers to reach a shared goal of delivering safe, quality health care.

This patient care may be through direct care by the RN, or it may be through coordinating and supervising patient care delegated to, Nursing Assistants and other unlicensed assistive personnel.

Education / Experience :

Graduate of a school of nursing; Associate degree / Diploma in Nursing required.

Special Knowledge / Skills / Certifications / Licenses :

1. Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients

2. Valid Minnesota Registered Nurse License

3. BLS provider status in accordance with American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines

Additional Information :

Current RN licensure required. BLS required. Recommended 1+ year experience of medical-surgical / telemetry but will consider new grad.

BSN, or currently enrolled in BSN program encouraged. Candidate must provide compassionate and safe care to the patients we serve.

Candidate should enjoy a fast-paced work environment and possess excellent critical thinking, multitasking, and prioritizing skills.

The Advanced Care Unit is a 20-bed unit that serves acute and / or chronically ill patients requiring close observation, management, and monitoring.

We care for patients having acute MI’s, unstable arrhythmias, or require temporary pacemakers. Patients having respiratory distress-requiring bipap or hi flo.

Medical patients such as GIB, DKA, or pulmonary hypertension. We also care for vascular surgical patients such as CEA’s, LE bypass, endovascular AAA.

Nurse-patient ratios 3 : 1 or 2 : 1. Individualized orientation for each new hire, ECCO, and ACLS certification.
