About This Role :
The MRO Buyer I purchases maintenance, repair, and operation supplies or services for assigned departments. Reviews purchase requisitions, obtains the best pricing, delivery, service, and quality.
Follows up on open and past due purchase orders to assure delivery.

Essential Job Functions / Tasks :
Reviews purchase requisitions of non production items from assigned departments and generates purchase orders to selected suppliers.
Monitors delivery status and expedites purchase orders as necessary. Maintains the accuracy of all MRO Purchase Orders in the JDE EnterpriseOne system.
- Reviews and manages existing suppliers' performance to meet the company standards. Responsible for monitoring on time delivery, pricing, and return of non-conforming materials.
- Researches and investigates cost reduction opportunities for assigned projects. Identifies and qualifies new sources of supply for existing components with appropriate supervision.
- Responsible for managing company vehicle scheduling and maintenance as well as companywide programs for pallets, coffee service, and propane,
- Provides follow-up for the timely disposition of non-conforming materials.
Education / Training Required and Preferred :
Associate’s degree or a combination of education and relevant work experience. Bachelor’s degree in business preferred.
Experience Required and Preferred :
Must have a minimum of 2 years purchasing experience, manufacturing environment preferred.
What You Bring :
- Intermediate computer skills. (JD Edwards, MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and the internet.)
- Supply chain management experience, with the ability to successfully match supply and demand for requested products and commodities.
- Must have a fundamental knowledge of manufacturing processes and understand commodity management strategies.
- Good negotiation skills with the ability to resolve scheduling conflicts with timeliness.
- Proficient in problem solving and conflict resolution.
- Good interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to interface with all levels of employees and suppliers.
- International sourcing and logistics experience preferred.
