Procurement Specialist

Position Overview :

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Procurement Specialist to join our team. The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for managing the public agency procurement process, ensuring cost-effective purchasing of materials, equipment, and services, and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and contractors.

The ideal candidate will have excellent negotiation skills, a solid understanding of procurement best practices, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities :

• Vendor Management : Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery capabilities. Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of goods and services.
• Procurement Process : Execute the full procurement cycle from purchase requisition to order fulfillment, including creating purchase orders, tracking deliveries, and resolving any discrepancies.
• Negotiation : Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with vendors and contractors to ensure the most favorable terms while maintaining quality standards.
• Cost Control : Monitor and analyze procurement costs, identify opportunities for cost savings, and work with internal stakeholders to implement strategies that optimize spending.
• Compliance : Ensure that all procurement activities comply with company policies and relevant legal requirements, including maintaining accurate documentation and records.
• Supplier Performance : Evaluate supplier performance on a regular basis and address any issues related to quality, delivery, or service.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration : Work closely with other departments, including finance, operations, and engineering, to understand procurement needs and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.

Requirements :

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience as a Procurement Professional.
• Procurement experience with public agency contracting.
• Understanding of legal aspects of contracts and procurement procedures.
• Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems.
