We are in search of a Payroll Specialist to join our team based in Manassas, Virginia. The individual in this role will be instrumental in managing our payroll functions, contributing to the accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations.
This position offers a short term contract employment opportunity and the chance to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities :
- Oversee weekly payroll processing for a small number of employees.
- Manage labor postings related to payroll.
- Assist in monthly end close, financial and external audits.
- Conduct reconciliations to ensure accuracy in financial records.
- Implement changes in the timekeeping system as required.
- Calculate fringe benefit payments in compliance with SCA / DBA regulations.
- Manage Paid Time Off (PTO) accruals.
- Provide support for other accounting needs as necessary.
- Operate various software including ADP, Costpoint, and MS Office.
- Monitor and maintain accurate customer credit records.
- Process customer credit applications with precision and efficiency.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Payroll Specialist or in a related role
- Proficiency in using Accounting Software Systems
- Familiarity with ADP - Financial Services
- Experience in using ADP Workforce Now
- Strong understanding of Accounting Functions
- Skilled in Auditing
- Capability to handle Benefit Functions
- Experience in managing Weekly Payroll
- Knowledge of Full Cycle Payroll
- Experience in handling Payroll for under 100 Employees
- Proficiency in using Costpoint software
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
