Job Summary :
We are currently seeking a highly skilled Underwriting Business / Operations Analyst to join our team promptly. The primary responsibilities of this role include managing reporting tasks, conducting quality reviews, overseeing day-to-day operational duties, and managing a team of 2-4 resources.
Additionally, this role involves providing technical support for Treaty Property Reinsurance contracts, including Property Cat and Retro Cat, Per Risk Excess of Loss programs, Quota Share programs, and Crop-Hail programs.
This is a hybrid position working 3 days onsite, 2 remote in our Warren, NJ office.
Key Responsibilities :
Generate and provide management with progress reports on contract pre-binding and booking as month-end and quarter-end financial deadlines approach, particularly during peak seasons.
Identify non-renewed contracts versus triaged submissions to ensure no renewals are missed.
Produce reports on Inforce and In Progress contracts to provide management with a snapshot of active business.
Handle ad hoc reporting requests from Underwriters and management.
Manage peer Quality Reviews to meet SOX Quality Review guidelines and internal Treaty Property guidelines.
Schedule reviews, generate quality review lists, and incorporate feedback from various sources.
Review EPI Review / Change processing to ensure completion in a timely and accurate manner.
Collaborate with Corporate Underwriting and Technology Departments to manage technology issues and enhancements.
Advocate for prioritization levels and pursue closure of issues and enhancements.
Analyze operational changes or enhancements and execute changes to existing operational guidelines.
Process incoming broker submissions, logging them in and ensuring submission files and data are available to relevant parties.
Review documentation for bound submissions, perform data entry into the underwriting system, and handle EPI Review / Change process.
Address questions from Reinsurance Accounting and Claims departments, discussing with underwriters as needed and performing adjustments to contracts.
Requirements :
Bachelor's degree in a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Business Analyst / Operational Analyst roles.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Power BI, and electronic file management.
Experience in Reinsurance Underwriting preferred.
Familiarity with broker portals and FTP sites desired.
Ability to interact with IT projects and external departments effectively.
Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
Proactive mindset with the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
