Overview We are seeking a full-time Product Manager in our St. Louis, MO location. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the definition of new products by providing market research, profitability analysis, voice of customer information and competitive analysis in a team-oriented environment.

  • Essential Functions Develop and demonstrate Product Management product skills Develop judgment regarding product usability and customer expectations via hands-on usage and observations of customers in real world situations Develop an understanding of Segment values & vision to set compelling product goals resulting in a superior product experience that answer the questions Why Garmin and Why This Product Develop skills to identify / champion the essential features required to make a differentiated and superior product;
  • the Key Requirements in the product concept and discern / reject features and products that are overburdened or are not useful to target customer Develop voice-of-the-customer skills such as researching and analyzing market requirements and opportunities, aggregating and interpreting customer and competitor trends and meeting with customers to learn about their needs first-hand Collaborate with Engineering to understand scope of work and product tradeoffs Assist with preparation of product documents such as product line roadmap, product concept, product development plan and product requirements Coordinate market research to track end-user feedback Develop skills to evangelize the product’s vision and unique selling points with Sales, Marketing and Marketing Communications Assist product marketing team with the development of product marketing plans Support Sales and Marketing with the necessary product knowledge and technical expertise to achieve product ranging in dealer channels Assist with training of Product Support and Field Service Engineers Develop and demonstrate Product Management business skills Become proficient in product cost and gross margin computations and in evaluating opportunity cost;

the cost of building one feature or product and what other features or products could have been built using the same time and resources Become proficient in understanding / managing various lifecycle phases : roadmap, concept, development, production and end of life in collaboration with Engineering, Operations, Sales and Marketing Assist with monitoring of product gross margin and collaborate with the product team to maximize gross margins over the life of the product Evaluate product cost tradeoffs with engineering against voice-of-the-customer inputs to deliver essential functions and best value while being a good steward of Garmin’s resources Thoroughly document work in an organized manner Apply Garmin’s Mission, Vision, Values and Quality Policy and enthusiastically exhibit a desire to see Garmin succeed Integrate, use, and provide feedback on products in development when possible as part of their normal job responsibilities Attend industry tradeshows, customer meetings and other events as required Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Marketing, or related engineering or marketing field AND a minimum of 5 years work experience in a product development, engineering, marketing or analytical role OR an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.

0 as a general rule) Active participation in the markets served Must demonstrate a strong aptitude for consumer electronics devices Self-motivated, demonstrates a sense of urgency, commitment and focus on the right priorities in developing solutions in a timely fashion, and has exceptional time management and organizational skills with a keen attention to detail Must demonstrate a strong passion for Garmin, including its mission, products, values and success Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills to present data / product recommendations to engineering and marketing / sales management Demonstrated proficiency using MS Office skills (PowerPoint, Word, Excel) Flexibility to travel (up to 10%) Desired Qualifications Pilot’s License or candidates with aviation experience Garmin International is an equal opportunity employer.
