The Program Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day operations of the Medical Assistant training program.
This role ensures that the program runs smoothly, supports students and maintains compliance with educational standards and regulatory requirements.
Position Responsibilities :
Program Administration :
- Assist in the development and implementation of the Medical Assistant program curriculum.
- Manage program schedules, ensuring that classes, labs, and clinical rotations are organized and staffed appropriately.
- Assist in maintaining and updating program documentation, including syllabi, course materials, and student records.
Instructional Duties :
- Teach various subjects including medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, clinical procedures, administrative practices, and patient care.
- Utilize diverse instructional methods to meet different learning styles.
Student Assessment and Support :
- Provide academic advising and support to students, addressing their concerns and helping them navigate the program.
- Organize student orientation, workshops, and other activities to enhance the student experience.
- Evaluate student performance through exams, practical assessments, and assignments.
- Provide constructive feedback and support to help students improve their skills and knowledge.
- Advise and mentor students regarding academic and career goals.
Classroom and Lab Management :
- Maintain an organized and safe classroom and lab environment.
- Ensure all equipment and supplies are available and in good working condition.
- Adhere to safety protocols and promote a culture of safety among students.
Clinical Coordination :
- Arrange clinical rotation placements for students, ensuring they meet program and accreditation requirements.
- Establish and maintain relationships with clinical sites and preceptors.
- Monitor student performance during clinical rotations and address any issues that arise.
Data Management and Reporting :
Collect and analyze data on student outcomes and feedback.
Position Qualifications Required :
Required Experience :
3 years' experience as a Certified Medical Assistant or in healthcare education required. Experience in program coordination, administration or related roles preferred.
Knowledge of accreditation standards and regulatory requirements for medical assistant programs.
Required Education :
Associate's degree in healthcare, education, or related field required. Will consider 5 years of experience in lieu of education.
Training / Certification / Licensure :
Current certificationas a Medical Assistant.
