Overview :
Responsible for reconciliation of lease portfolio activity, analysis, and research of differences as well as preparing general ledger entries.

Primary Responsibilities :
- Perform reconciliations of lease portfolio activity ensuring financial integrity between our general ledger and other systems.
- Analyze and research the cause of differences and play an active role in process improvement.
- Monitoring and improving all internal accounting controls and processes.
- Prepare general ledger entries.
- Ad hoc financial analysis utilizing Excel and other report writing software.
- Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite.
Design, implement, maintain, and enhance internal controls to mitigate risk on an ongoing basis. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
- Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
- Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
- Complete other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Required :
Associates degree in accounting and a minimum of 3 years’ relevant work experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 5 years’ higher education and / or work experience.
Understanding of financial controls and process flow.
Strong Excel skills.
Analytical and detail-oriented.
Ability to understand and resolve complex issues.
Ability to work in a fast-paced organization and be a quick learner.
Education and Experience Preferred :
Bachelor's degree in accounting.
Leasing or financial services experience.
Access skills.
