We have an opportunity in our Schaumburg (Chicago area) office for a CAD Applications Engineer.
The successful candidate will be responsible for -
- Technical functions in support of specific engineering activities by collecting data and performing electronic / electrical tests on PCB boards implementing offline power supplies.
- Work from schematics diagrams, building and assembling prototypes and use of electronic cads such as Altium, or Eagle or Cadence PCB are fundamental skills of the ideal candidate.
- Mathematical analysis of raw data on processes / products / materials and communicating results are job duties required for this position.
- In addition, the position requires to organize and manage components stock and materials for the power electronics lab.
Profile
- Bachelors Degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering.
- 2-5 years of experience.
- Proficient use of electronics CAD tools such as CADENCE PCB Editor and / or Altium Designer to design PCB’s.
- Ability to work from schematics, diagrams using written and verbal descriptions, to check and troubleshooting functions.
- Use of electrical and electronic equipment such as programmable power supplies and oscilloscopes.
- Carry out simple tests on power supplies and electronic converters.
- Implement technical functions in support of specific engineering activities by collecting data, performing electrical / electronic tests and communicating results.

At STMicroelectronics, base salary is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range depending on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
The base annual salary range for this role is between $87,920 - $124,200 USD.
