Sharestates seeks a VP of Software Development and Engineering to work out of our Great Neck Office. The VP of Software Development and Engineering must have a solid technical grasp of architecture components web, mobile, and hardware so they can anticipate the risks and the technology choices to be made.
This role is responsible for defining and implementing the product roadmap, software, and / or hardware. They must possess a firm understanding of the key strategic elements.
This is a demanding strategic role for which candidates must demonstrate both flexibility and a proven track record of technical expertise.

General Duties & Responsibilities
- Having a clear vision of the context regarding the team, the project, and the company. This enables strategic decision-making that keeps technology working efficiently and progressing in the right direction.
- Guiding and coordinating various development teams to efficiently progress along the product roadmap while respecting time constraints (and other criteria), as stipulated by the Board.
- Organizing the technical hub of a company project, structuring the necessary teams based on their skills and operational remit.
- Plan the people growth strategy for the technology department in collaboration with HR and technology managers to define the recruitment process for their teams.
- Oversee product design, development, and delivery, ensuring they meet quality standards and customer needs.
- Collaborate with other departments (e.g., Executive team, Operations, sales, marketing, finance / accounting) to align engineering efforts with broader company goals.
- Manage the dept budget, ensuring resources are used efficiently and effectively.
- Continuously evaluate and improve engineering processes and methodologies to enhance productivity and efficiency.
- Ensure the highest quality standards in engineering practices and the final products.
- Guiding technology managers in their day-to-day activities to enable them to progress matters relating to both project management and operational guidance for their respective teams.
What You Bring
- You have 10+ years of experience in modern engineering practices, with a track record of leading and building highly scalable, reliable, mission-critical systems.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve ambitious goals.
- A precise knowledge of an organization’s technical stack is often required to enable us to make sound decisions regarding the company’s technical issues.
- Experience leading projects from architectural design to production while setting and maintaining high standards of technical excellence across your team.
- Strong technical background in software development, system architecture, Web 3.0, and engineering best practices (for modern server, backend, API, and hardware development with experience working in the FINTECH environment.
- Good communication skills and the ability to express ideas in simple terms. Able to discuss matters and make yourself understood by different parties from both inside and outside the company.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master's degree in computer science or a related field.
- Experience in FinTech, payments, or banking systems.
- Experience with team performance turn-around and technology transformation at scale.
- Strong technical credentials, with at least ten years of technical engineering leadership, including 5+ years of experience in large-scale distributed system development and hands-on operational experience.
Salary Requirements
$175,000-$225,000
Status : Exempt Full time, Mon-Friday in Office.
