Summary :

An integral part of the Lucent Health, Narus Health, and Lucent Health Care Management teams, the Application Engineer is responsible for supporting application development process and to support the maintenance of our existing applications.

The Application Engineer is responsible for coding, designing, application management, troubleshooting, monitoring updates, handling possible security threats, and providing end user support.

Strong hands-on technical expertise and ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities :

  • Build and maintain both web and mobile applications for Lucent Health.
  • Collaborate with leadership to ensure applications align with the organization’s goals, as well as customer needs.
  • Build-out, end to end entirely new applications or enhancement to existing applications based on provided architectural specifications.
  • Oversees the performance of the applications to ensure they are running properly.
  • Monitor cloud performance and troubleshoot anomalies.
  • Attend daily standups and be prepared to participate in discussions on current activities.
  • Build out solutions based on task assignments.
  • Monitor logs and dashboards to verify system integrity and operational performance.
  • Carry out regular security and performance checks.
  • Stay on track of the application lifecycle to ensure necessary updates are completed on time.
  • Effectively communicate status updates to staff in a timely manner.
  • Provide feedback on performance improvement or enhancement as identified.
  • Supports users by developing documentation and assistance tools.
  • Keep up to date on the latest industry trends in software development.
  • Automation mindset and skillset.
  • Other duties as requested.

Qualifications :

  • Proven experience as a Full Stack Developer or similar role.
  • Proficiency in React, NodeJS and / or TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Knowledge within ETL scripting such as GoLang, Python or similar.
  • Strong knowledge of backend development and relational database management (SQL / Postgres).
  • Hands-on experience with AWS technologies (Lambda, EC2, RDS, S3, Transfer Family, CloudWatch, Cognito).
  • Experience creating and managing CI / CD pipelines (GitLab is a plus).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Linux / Unix environments, Apache, Crontab.
  • Working knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, and pods.
  • Working knowledge of infrastructure scripting such as Terraform.
  • Experienced in Git and issue tracking tools like Atlassian / Jira.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Extensive knowledge in using and writing RESTful API’s or requests to integrate various components and services.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.

This role could be a good fit if you have :

A minimum of 5 years of comparable experience as an application developer.

  • Deep understanding of SDLC core programming principles.
  • Skilled in HTML, CSS and a JavaScript based language. Proficient in SQL.
  • Understanding of server scripting and source control.
  • Proficiency with project tracking software, such as Jira.
  • Cloud architecture and resource use.
  • Strong ability to influence and engage with key stakeholders
  • Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal and presentation skills and the ability to effectively interface with senior management and staff
  • Full Stack experience is a plus
  • Specialized training, certification or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Degree from an accredited school in computer science or related preferred
