Description
We are recruiting for an exceptional Senior Technician, Engineering to work out of our Phoenix corporate office. This individual will primarily be responsible for technical reviews of engineering construction plans of varying scope for water distribution and wastewater collection systems, drafting and administering legal agreements, engineering standards, and engineering details that are consistent with EPCOR’s tariffs, rules, and regulations.
Key Accountabilities :
- Review and approve engineering documents including construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates related to water / wastewater projects, to ensure compliance with company standards, state and other regulatory guidelines, and good engineering practices.
- Create and administer Main Extension Agreements for developer-funded water and wastewater infrastructure.
- Understand, interpret and administer certain components of EPCOR’s tariffs, rules and regulations.
- Review and process applications for water meters.
- Prepare and maintain files, records, drawings, reports, budgets and other data related to engineering projects.
- Communicate frequently with developers, homebuilders, engineers, customers and operators of water and wastewater systems.
- Create and issue invoices; collect and process payments; obtain deeds, recorded easements, invoices, as-built plans, and regulatory approvals.
Requirements :
- Two-year degree in Drafting, Engineering, or related field, or 2+ years of technical school training.
- 5+ years of technical experience in wet utility operations or engineering with hands-on planning, designing, construction or inspection experience.
- Any ADEQ water certification is a bonus.
- Ability to oversee and monitor construction work for adherence to project plans and specifications.
- Knowledge of basic water distribution and wastewater collection system design and construction practices.
- Knowledge of regulatory standards and procedures.
- Ability to work in an office environment with minimal guidance on various engineering, planning, design and construction-related assignments.
