The St. Luke's Transitional Care Center is looking for reliable RN's (Registered Nurse) to care for our skilled nursing patients in a professional and considerate manner.
You will work under the supervision of a Director of Nursing and Medical Director. RN professionals must be qualified and compassionate.
The ideal candidate will be experienced in providing basic nursing care to those who need it while remaining patient and calm.
This candidate would assist with management duties as needed and fill in for nurse managers (DON, ADON, MDS, Care Coordinator, etc.) during absences.
Duties include :
Assume responsibility for planning, organizing, motivating, coordinating, and controlling personnel, equipment, and supplies in the nursing department.
Assist in the orientation process of new employees.
- Assist in the continuing education of nursing employees.
- Monitor the resident’s comprehensive care plan process including : the completion of quarterly reassessments, distribution of the care plan to specific departments, and the evaluation of the implementation of the care plan.
- May be required to work as a charge nurse if needed.
- Act as the Director of Nursing or nurse managers in their absence.
Completion of medical records upon resident discharge from the facility.
- Follow established standards of nursing practice and implement facility policies and procedures.
- Interpret existing policies and procedures to Resident Care Technicians, residents, families, and physicians.
- Supervise and evaluate all direct resident care and initiate corrective action as necessary.
- Conduct resident rounds daily, reporting problems to the Director of Nursing, if necessary, and initiate corrective action.
- Identify safety hazards and take appropriate action.
- Attend staff meetings, in-service programs, and committee meetings as assigned.
- Follow staffing guidelines and make nursing assignments according to qualifications of staff and characteristics of the resident population.
- Assume responsibility for compliance with Federal, State, and local regulations within the assigned unit.
- Counsel Certified Nursing Assistants and recommend disciplinary action, when necessary, to the Director of Nursing.
- Participate in the employee evaluation process by providing information on the clinical performance of Certified Nursing Assistants to the Director of Nursing.
- Additional duties as assigned.
