Overview

The Commercial Lines Manager is responsible for activities related to operations of the Commercial Lines (CL) department in conjunction with other team leaders.

This position will continuously look to improve the client service experience and the workflows associated with delivering excellent customer service throughout the agency.

What You'll Do

Leadership : Communicates and behaves in a constructive way that establishes, extends, and maintains trusting relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.

Be an exemplary role model of the Agency and its core values. Develops a high-performance Commercial Services team through definition of purpose, career paths and departmental workflows.

Influences across the Agency by supporting the career development of others.

Business Savviness : Strategically understands Commercial Lines. Creates an annual business plan, with measurable goals and budget to support the global achievements for the Agency.

Measures results through use of key performance indicators. Allocates resources to optimize achievement of strategic business objectives.

Cultivates and maintains strong partnerships with carriers, clients and team members.

Communication : Develops and presents information clearly, concisely, and accurately. Communicates at a level appropriate to the audience.

Provides a level of detail necessary for the situation.

Technical Expertise : Serve as the internal subject matter expert on all questions related to Commercial Lines Services.

Develop efficient workflows, processes, and procedures. Provides solutions and strategy to resolve issues and concerns. Readily adapts and responds to the changing needs of the Agency and Industry.

You will be the acting Client Specialist on a designated Book of Business.

What You'll Need

  • Advanced degree from college or technical school; or 6-10 years of related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Property and Casualty License
  • 8+ years of experience in commercial property and casualty insurance with 5+ years of experience of independently managing a book at an insurance agency
  • Tech savvy; ability to navigate multiple systems including Agency Management Software; intermediate skills in Microsoft Office products
  • Professional designations preferred
