Software Engineering Manager

Overview Lutron is looking for an experienced Software Engineering Manager out of our Boston Engineering Office. In this role, you will lead a group of talented software engineers in major cross functional initiatives to create world class systems all while leading the growth of our software organization in Boston as we scale.

You will work to ensure successful delivery of major customer-facing features in our systems engineering department. You will work with one or more cross functional software teams (embedded, mobile, cloud, web) to ensure we build the right connected systems features with the correct technology that delights users and is high quality.

In your position, you will ensure on-time and on-budget delivery while fostering a collaborative and inclusive team culture.

The right person is an experienced people leader who can lead and manage software engineers. In this position, you will coach, mentor and guide software engineers both on their technical approach and method for optimizing the software development process.

Our software teams are passionate about building highly scalable and robust, world class systems that are reliable, responsive, and secure while providing an exquisite user experience.

In this role, you will be the champion for application software in Boston. You will help chart a course in coordination with senior engineering leadership to grow the Boston application software organization.

Responsibilities Working with business and product stakeholders to define initiatives and build delivery roadmaps to realize the value of those initiatives Owning initiatives from initial definition through delivery Providing teams with oversight and advice including strategic vision, phasing, and overall technical approach Providing direct supervision of software engineers and software engineering supervisors Coaching and mentoring upcoming engineers in planning, delivery, and project management Helping develop and maintain a strong engineering culture within the team and Boston office Supporting the expansion of the Boston application software team Qualifications Bachelor’s or master's degree in computer science, engineering, math, or science Minimum, cumulative 3.

0 GPA for all degrees earned 10+ years of industry experience with 5+ years in a technical leadership role Demonstrated success leading high performing teams Deep understanding of the software development lifecycle and agile project management, experience with SAFe is a plus A passion for team building, coaching and mentoring Familiarity with one or more relevant software technology (e.
