3rd Shift Industrial Machining Team Lead

OpSource has partnered with a Automotive company located in Piedmont, SC.

Pay for the position :

$26.00 / hour

Hours for the position :

11 : 00 PM - 7 : 30 AM Monday - Friday, overtime as needed (must be open to working 12 hour shifts).

Job Summary : Provide leadership to their team to ensure Safety, Quality, Cost and Delivery.

Work Environment :

• Work shift as assigned and overtime is required, as needed.
• Will be required to do the following throughout the shift : standing, bending, pushing, pulling, reaching above and below shoulders, moving left to right repetitively, grasping, and fine finger dexterity.
• May be required to lift during shift up to 40 lbs.
• Specific vision abilities required with this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
• The performance of this position requires exposure to manufacturing areas which require the use of personal protective equipment such as steel toed shoes, safety glasses with side shields

Duties / Responsibilities :

• Provide leadership to the department
• Lead improvement activities for quality, delivery, safety and cost
• Assure quality, production, safety / environmental standards, 5S are met
• Schedule manpower and relieve operator when needed
• Conduct meetings as necessary
• Record daily information, such as, time and attendance
• Assist in identifying training and development needs for department team
• Support company policy and administer fairly and consistently
• Investigate, solve and report on product or process problems
• Assist in preparing departmental procedures / processes
• May perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned by management

Required Skills / Abilities :

• Able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks
• Ability to work flexible hours
• Prior machining experience
• Ability to use problem solving approaches
• Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations and ergonomics
• Excellence in attendance and verbal / written communication skills
• Proficient computer skills
• Knowledge of various inspection techniques
• Knowledge of quality systems, gauging and close tolerance measurement
• Conduct team member evaluations
• Able to learn to operate and maintain various equipment at an acceptable level with emphasis on quality, IATF 16949 standard, ISO 14001 standard, safety / environmental, 5S and productivity.
• Able to perform in a team environment
• Support company policy
• Ability to work overtime and any shift as needed

Education and Experience :

• High School Diploma or GED.
