The Construction Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and continually improving Micron’s construction and overall safety programs and procedures to ensure personnel, project and facility safety.
This individual is responsible for supervising changes to the Micron ISO Management System and applicable regulatory requirements, implement changes as the need arises, benchmark industry practices, and conduct detailed task and process hazard analysis and risk assessments.
This individual will support leadership in identifying where to prioritize resources and will be guided by program or project objectives.
This individual will define and lead large projects of a highly technical nature, independently. This individual will serve as an authority within the occupational safety and health field with latitude for decision making.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities and Tasks
Establish and lead day to day management of Micron NY's Construction safety program.
Incident Prevention and Investigation
Ensures Micron’s safety programs and procedures are effective, efficient, and conform to the Management System and regulatory requirements.
Develops and implements functional, efficient solutions for safety issues.
Coordinates, manages, and conducts safety walkthroughs, inspections, and audits to ensure operations follow Micron safety procedures and regulatory requirements.
Performs incident and event follow-up and investigation, determining direct and indirect causes, making specific recommendations to prevent recurrence, and confirming efficiency.
Review investigation reports for safety instances.
Drive and ensure all safety services tacts are complete.
Resolve incidents or advance to leadership
Goals, objectives, targets and analytics
Supports the MTV ISO System by participating in internal audits to continuously improve our safety programs and procedures.
Collects, evaluates, and communicates safety-related metrics and performance measurements.
Drive alignment to goals
Supervise ongoing results and provide updates
Provide feedback to leadership based on expertise on strategic direction of department, based on company goals
Influence the development of new capabilities, goals and objectives
Operations Support
Provides emergency support to Micron Operations at MTV in the role as an on-call Safety Engineer.
Provides customer support and technical expertise for various safety issues and safety laws.
Maintain communication with production and manufacturing engineers to ensure that present and future needs are being met
Coordinate with facilities and manufacturing engineering regarding system design
Training
Responsible for identifying, developing, and providing safety training in accordance with Company and Department goals and objectives.
Responsible for helping to deliver training and answer questions team members have
Department financial forecasting and cost reduction
See opportunities to reduce or optimize costs
Review trends in spending and correlate with forecast to determine budget and ongoing expenditures
Identifying efficient sustaining / manufacturing improvements, minimizing regular expenditures, and helping to promote a cost conscious culture.
Education
Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience in Occupational Safety and Health or related studies or courses.
Experience
Minimum of 10 years of safety experience in various industries (manufacturing, construction, compliance). Specific experience in safety programs including but not limited to Industrial Hygiene / Respiratory and Hearing Conservation, Ergonomics, ISO Occupational Safety and Health Management, Chemical Safety, Incident Investigation, Risk Identification and Analysis
Preferred Qualifications / Certifications
10+ years Occupational Safety and Health experience in various industries
5+ years in Construction Safety role
Associate Safety Professional (ASP)
Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST)
HAZWOPER 40
OSHA 30
ISO Lead Auditor Certified
Please note : Position is initially remote, with some travel to New York as needed. When construction activities commence, relocation to Syracuse / Clay, NY would be required.
The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is :
$96,000.00 - $200,000.00
Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries of the position across all US locations.
Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training.

Additional compensation may include benefits, discretionary bonuses and equity.
