Payroll Specialist
Looking for a bi-lingual Payroll / HR Generalist responsible for all payroll related activities who supports the organization by administering human resources programs or policies by performing the following :
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Processes weekly payrolls. Works daily with the automated payroll system time clock data to ensure all accuracy of punches
- Interfaces daily with employees, supervisors and managers to ensure all time clock punches for late, early, missing and PTO times are properly noted and recorded
- Reviews payroll reports for accuracy, general ledger reporting, funding and deductions.
- Prepares check requests and wage verifications as needed.
- Responsible for maintaining vacation and sick time for eligible employees.
- Enters 401(K) contributions, matches and loans into the system.
- Prepares annual census for medical / 401K / pension plan and completes any government reporting.
- Enters new hires, complete E-Verify, CT State Employee reporting and records changes affecting wages such as exemptions, insurance coverage, and wage garnishments for each employee to update master payroll records.
- Coordination of temporary employees with Agencies & Supervisors, prepares weekly list and records attendance.
- Completes brief orientation and safety training with all temporary hires within the first day of hire.
- Prepares periodic reports of earnings, taxes, and deductions, including ACA reporting.
- Assists with Insurance during open enrollment and plans one on one meeting with new hires for enrollment.
- Assists with 401K enrollment as needed and provides documents for approval to the Administrator and Empower.
- Maintain the frozen pension files for calculations, payments and changes including census.
- Posts Birthday List, mails Birthday cards and update phone lists as needed.
- Assists in maintaining all HR files, including I-9 current / terminated employees.
- Posts "Days w / o Accident" & Monthly Safety Theme.
- Responsible for all new hire orientation, On-Boarding, paperwork, review of the handbook, safety training, etc.
- Assists with Workman's Comp filing and reporting as needed and replenishes 1st Aid supplies.
- Prepares Safety Meeting Minutes and updates Emergency Evacuation Books.
- Maintains time and attendance on a daily basis.
Pay and Benefits :
The pay range for this position is $36.06 - $40.86 / hr.
