Position Summary
The Finance Controller will oversee and manage all financial functions, including accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance under the leadership of our CFO.
This role is critical to maintaining our financial health and ensuring that we have the resources needed to support our rapid growth.
The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of financial principles, strong analytical skills, and a proven track record of leadership in a high-growth environment.
Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Analysis :
- Oversee the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Provide insightful financial analyses, identify trends, and offer strategic recommendations to senior management to support business decisions.
- Prepare financial forecasts, budgets, and projections to align with the company's growth objectives.
Budgeting & Cost Management :
- Lead the annual budget planning process, working closely with department heads to develop realistic budgets that support growth and profitability goals.
- Monitor actual spending versus budgets, perform variance analysis, and recommend corrective actions when needed.
- Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives to improve margins and operational efficiency.
Internal Controls & Compliance :
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as internal policies and procedures.
- Develop, implement, and monitor internal controls to protect company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Oversee and coordinate with external auditors, ensuring smooth audit processes and timely issue resolution.
Cash Flow & Treasury Management :
- Manage cash flow forecasting to maintain healthy liquidity levels and support growth initiatives.
- Optimize working capital by monitoring accounts receivable, accounts payable, and inventory levels.
- Develop and manage relationships with banks, lenders, and other financial institutions to secure favorable financing terms, as needed.
Financial Systems & Process Improvement :
- Evaluate and enhance financial processes and systems to increase efficiency, scalability, and accuracy.
- Lead the implementation of new financial platform(s) or system upgrades to support growing business needs.
- Collaborate with IT and other departments to streamline workflows and improve data integration.
Team Leadership :
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Provide guidance and support to team members on technical accounting issues, compliance, and best practices.
- Promote a collaborative environment that supports cross-functional partnerships and effective communication.
Qualifications
- Experience :
- Minimum 7+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role, ideally in a high-growth organization.
- Skills :
- Education : Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; CPA or CMA designation and / or MBA preferred.
- Skills : Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Communication : Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting financial information to executive leadership.
- Bilingual : Fluency in English and Spanish strongly preferred, with the ability to provide written and verbal support in both languages
- Organizational Excellence : Ability to display agility, prioritization, and time-management skills.
- Adaptability : Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
