Trust and Estate Paralegal Job Description

A prestigious law firm in the Chicagoland area is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Trust and Estate Paralegal to join their team.

The ideal candidate will possess strong proactive planning skills and a comprehensive background in estate planning.

Key Responsibilities :

• Draft estate planning documents including wills, powers of attorney, and both basic and advanced trusts
• Assist with basic and advanced estate planning for clients
• Perform trust administration and prepare accountings
• Communicate effectively with clients, demonstrating excellent interpersonal skills
• Work collaboratively within a team environment, sharing knowledge to enhance overall team strength and camaraderie

Required Qualifications :

• Proven experience in drafting estate planning documents
• Strong background in trust administration and accounting
• Excellent attention to detail
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting

Preferred Qualifications :

• Experience preparing gift and estate tax returns under attorney guidance
• Probate experience
• Familiarity with advanced trust structures and estate planning techniques

Work Environment :

• Hybrid position three days per week in-office attendance required after the initial 90-day period
• First 90 days require 100% in-office attendance to ensure proper onboarding and integration (limited exceptions may apply)
