Position Description : We are looking for a Senior Hydraulic Engineer to join our Water Team to improve infrastructure in our City office.
The candidate must have a bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering and five to fifteen years of related experience.
The candidate must also be self-motivated, work well with others, and have excellent writing, organizational, and communication skills.
A flexible hybrid-remote work schedule is available after 90 days of employment.
Typical responsibilities include :
- Provide hydrologic and hydraulic technical support to the planning, design and construction on various wet weather projects that may include combined / sanitary sewer overflow, collection system, pump station, water, stormwater, green infrastructure, hydrologic and hydraulic models and / or other projects
- Lead evaluations of collection systems and open channels with the use of hydrologic and hydraulic models
- Manage tasks and projects when appropriate
- Mentor / train staff in the use of hydrologic and hydraulic technical approaches and models
- Perform and manage hydrologic / hydraulic model calibrations based on monitoring data
- Develop flow monitoring programs and manage data analysis
- Perform GIS analysis to support hydrologic and hydraulic model development
- Prepare engineering calculations and supporting analysis of alternatives
- Prepare and evaluate wet weather control alternatives
- Develop and oversee the writing of technical reports and memorandums
- Assist with / review scope, budget, and schedule of new project tasks
- Monitor task budget and progress
- Conduct on-site inspections as needed
- Prepare project status and other reports
- Assist in the preparation of proposals
- Assist Project Managers
- Attend client, public, project and staff meetings including client progress, plan review, pre-construction, etc.

Education :
Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
Skills / Experience :
- Five to fifteen years of experience
- PE license
- Hydraulic Modeling and GIS experience
- Working knowledge of InfoWorks ICM and / or SWMM software
- Excellent technical writing, organizational and communication skills
- Individual must be self-motivated and able to work well with others
