HEAVY CIVIL CONSTRUCTION EXPERIENCE (UNDERGROUND UTILITIES-wet / dry )

YOU :

• Review project plans and specifications.
• Estimate crew cost including number and class of people, equipment items, and other daily expenses.
• Estimate production costs.
• Negotiate with material suppliers and subcontractors.
• Flag and point out, to the Chief Estimator, costs that are believed risks.
• Review project estimate with the Chief Estimator.
• Complete and review the bid documents.
• Submit bid documents within the deadline requirements.
• Prepare bid turnover information, contract bond order form, correct bid to reflect last minute price changes.
• Assume lead role in job turnover to Superintendent and project management.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• BS degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• Must have 1-2 years as an Estimator for heavy civil construction. Experience in Underground Utilities-both wet / dry is highly preferred.
• Ability and willingness to ask for assistance of others who are knowledgeable of the work to be performed.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills (at this level, grammar / spelling do count).
• Must take pride in your Organization and Time Management skill sets.
• Computer savvy (Outlook, MS Word, Excel, PP : You don't have to be an expert, but you do need to use them effectively and efficiently ).

Experience with HCSS / Heavy Bid software

• Self-starter, accountability, and positive can-do attitude is necessary for fit.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must have a valid driver's license and be able to meet company's driving record requirements.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and a government background check.
