Right Resource HR Consulting are assisting one of our clients in sourcing experienced and accomplished Director of Finance & Administration to join their team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the finance and administration functions of the company. The Director of Finance & Administration will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the company, ensuring fiscal responsibility, and providing strategic financial guidance to drive business growth.
The Director of Finance & Administration will play a critical role in managing financial resources, making sound financial decisions, and identifying opportunities for cost control and risk mitigation.
This position reports to the CEO of the company and works closely with the mFiber Platform CFO.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all financial functions, including financial planning, budgeting, and financial reporting
- Update and manage the financial operating model to support business decisions and strategic initiatives
- Maintain appropriate financial controls and policies and procedures
- Manage cashflows and cash use including issuing payments, invoicing, managing drawdowns of equity to fund construction costs, etc.
- Review and optimize short, medium, and long-term capital needs
- Prepare and review financial reports, including P&L reports, income statements, cash flow statements, balance sheets, and report to the CEO and Board members
- Prepare and present budgets and reports for the Board and analyze discrepancies between actual and projected figures and suggest methods of improving as appropriate
- Calculate and track periodic financial KPIs and report to the CEO and Board members
- Work in close cooperation with the company's CEO to meet all requirements of the project and financing documents
- Advise CEO and Board members of financial issues or potential risks that might affect the project; including achieving business plan targets per the financial model and annual budgets
- Follow risk management guidelines including insurance program and renewals in accordance with project documentation
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for growth
- Manage and maintain financial records, including accounts receivable and payable
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations including USGAAP
- Stay up-to-date with changes in financial regulations and industry trends, including any new or proposed USGAAP accounting standards and of any new or proposed legislation and its financial impact on the project
- Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement strategic plans
- Conduct financial risk analysis and implement strategies to mitigate potential risks
- Develop and implement cost control measures to optimize financial performance
- Provide financial expertise and guidance to the company's leadership team
Qualifications
- 5-7 years of experience in project or construction accounting with proven success in cashflow management and forecasting
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field
- Master’s degree in business administration or a related field is preferred
- Significant experience in a finance leadership role, preferably in a corporate or field office finance setting
- Proven expertise in financial analysis and risk analysis
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, accounting standards, and regulations
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong leadership and management skills
- Ability to collaborate with other team members
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Experience using NetSuite or similar ERP system
- Certification as a CMA, CPA, or CA is an asset
- Experience working in infrastructure / PPP projects and / or fiberoptics environment is highly valuable
