Yes Job Type Full-Time Working Hours Position Summary Roosevelt University College of Science, Health and Pharmacy seeks a Pharmaceutical Science Research Fellow to actively facilitate pharmaceutical investigative laboratory endeavors of the faculty, manage the laboratory facilities, and participate in didactic instruction within the Master of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences or Doctor of Pharmacy programs as appropriate.
Applicants from all areas of chemistry and biology will be considered. Research experience in areas such as biochemistry, cancer biology, cellular biology, medicinal chemistry, molecular biology, or organic synthesis is preferred.
This position is a 2-year fellowship designed to provide training and experience to prepare the individual for a full-time appointment to doctoral level training and drug discovery and development programs in the pharmaceutical sciences.
Appointment to the second year will follow a mid-cycle review. Roosevelt will provide the Fellow structured mentorship in research, pedagogy and an introduction to university service.
Position responsibilities include participating in innovative research and discovery programs, performing and assisting in carrying out experimental protocols as directed by and in collaboration with program faculty, procuring and assuring laboratory supply inventory is attended to and properly documented, assuring laboratory equipment is maintained and certified, ensuring ongoing compliance with all safety measures for all research laboratory facilities and personnel, delivering instruction within the Doctor of Pharmacy or Masters in Pharmaceutical Sciences curriculum as appropriate, and engaging in college service as needed.

edu . Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
- Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA Safety Standards relevant to laboratory research and laboratory operations.
- Demonstrated knowledge of lab techniques including but not limited to pharmaceutical analyses, biochemical techniques and protocols, molecular biology, cell culture, enzyme kinetics, drug formulation and delivery systems, and development and characterization of assays and techniques that can be applied to both research and patient care areas of focus.
- Demonstrated knowledge of lab data statistics and analysis. Prior experience with data analytic software (e.g., MS Excel, GraphPad Prism, SPSS) is preferred.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills

Years of Experience Required 0-2 Required Education Masters Degree Certification / Licensure Required Minimum Qualifications
- Earned Master of Science degree in chemistry, biology, pharmaceutical sciences, or a related field
- Prior laboratory experience in an academic or industrial setting, including knowledge of safety standards and procedures (OSHA) as well as experience with basic laboratory techniques.
Preferred Qualifications One to two years of experience in lab management. Individuals who seek to gain experience in doctoral level training program in pharmaceutical sciences are also encouraged to apply.
Equipment Operated Basic office equipment (desktop computer, copier / multi-function device, fax and telephone).
Laboratory equipment materials / waste handling may include chemicals. Formulation and manufacturing can include large equipment.
Working Conditions Normal climate-controlled office environment is provided. Job is largely sedentary, but there is a need to move about the office / lab frequently.
Occasional bending, stooping, lifting, pushing and / or pulling is required (typically less than 25 pounds of weight or pressure).

- Conducts research projects assigned by faculty, utilizing various biological and chemical techniques as necessitated by the project.
- Contribute to drafting and editing manuscripts and grants, as directed by faculty.
- Develop and execute laboratory research investigations, under faculty guidance and supervision. Assist in the mentorship and supervision of undergraduate and graduate students in the laboratory, including safety and assay protocol training.
