Job Description :

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Ophthalmic Technician to join our team. As the Lead Ophthalmic Technician, you will play a pivotal role in providing excellent patient care and managing the day-to-day operations of our ophthalmic clinic.

This position offers the opportunity to lead a team of technicians, collaborate closely with ophthalmologists, and contribute to the overall success of our practice.

Responsibilities :

  • Lead and supervise a team of ophthalmic technicians, providing guidance, training, and support as needed.
  • Perform comprehensive ophthalmic diagnostic testing, including but not limited to visual acuity measurements, tonometry, lensometry, and pupil evaluations.
  • Assist ophthalmologists with patient examinations, procedures, and surgeries.
  • Manage patient flow and ensure efficient clinic operations.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Oversee inventory management and ordering of ophthalmic supplies and equipment.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients, addressing their inquiries and concerns with professionalism and empathy.
  • Stay updated on advancements in ophthalmic technology and procedures, and implement best practices within the clinic.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to deliver coordinated patient care.
  • Uphold high standards of safety and infection control in the clinic environment.

Requirements :

  • Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) or Certified Ophthalmic Medical Technologist (COMT) credential preferred.
  • Previous experience working as an ophthalmic technician, with demonstrated proficiency in diagnostic testing and patient care.
  • Leadership experience or qualities, with the ability to effectively manage a team and delegate tasks.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact compassionately with patients and colleagues.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in using ophthalmic equipment and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards in patient care.
  • Willingness to participate in continuing education and professional development opportunities.
