Automotive Billing Clerk- Tom Wood Group

The Tom Wood Group, located in Indianapolis, Indiana, is looking for an experienced Billing Clerk to complement our team.

Theideal candidate should possess strong attention to detail, excellent numerical skills, and proficiency in using billing software and spreadsheets.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Generate and process invoices accurately for vehicle sales, service, parts, and other dealership transactions using billing software or manual systems.
• Maintain detailed records of billing transactions, including invoices, receipts, and payment records, ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
• Reconcile billing statements with accounts receivable ledger to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
• Process customer payments, track outstanding balances, and follow up on overdue accounts to facilitate timely collections.
• Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies or disputes promptly by collaborating with internal departments, customers, and vendors.
• Provide excellent customer service by responding to billing inquiries, explaining charges, and assisting customers with payment-related issues professionally and courteously.
• Generate billing reports, financial summaries, and aging analysis to support management decision-making and financial reporting requirements.
• Identify opportunities for streamlining billing processes, implementing best practices, and enhancing efficiency to optimize departmental productivity.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, tax laws, and dealership policies governing billing practices and financial transactions.
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS :

• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
• Proven experience in billing, accounts receivable, or financial administration, preferably within the automotive industry.
• Proficiency in using billing software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail, with the ability to perform accurate calculations and reconcile accounts.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, for interacting with customers, colleagues, and vendors professionally.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively as part of a team.
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of financial information and adhering to ethical standards
