Accounts Receivable Specialist
Triumvirate Environmental, one of the largest environmental services firms in North America, is seeking an experienced, detail oriented, self-motivated, and well-organized Accounts Receivable Specialist.

In this role you will be responsible for engaging and developing relationships with customers based in the United States and Canada to facilitate the timely collections of receivables, as well as resolve issues related to delinquent payments.
This position reports to the Director of Credit and Collections and supports the Vice President of Finance. This is a hybrid role and is based in our Somerville, MA corporate office.
Essential Responsibilities :
Collections and Account Management :
- Accurately and efficiently collect outstanding balances from customers.
- Post customer receivables and credits to the general ledger while maintaining meticulous account records for in-depth customer activity analysis.
- Conduct credit reviews and analyze current and new vendors.
Discrepancy Resolution :
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies to facilitate the collection of past-due balances.
- Collaborate across departments to address credit and collection issues professionally.
Financial Reporting and Compliance :
- Assist in month-end closing procedures, including accounts receivable reconciliation and preparation of schedules.
- Ensure accurate billing and timely remittance of sales tax to tax authorities.
- Maintain up-to-date tax exemption certificates.
Communication and Metrics :
- Communicate effectively with customers in a professional manner.
- Assist in reporting credit and collection metrics.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Credit and Collections.
Requirements :
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounts receivable and collections.
- Proficiency in professional phone communication and negotiation.
- Strong MS Excel skills.
- Familiarity with Oracle ERP is a plus (though not required).
- Excellent reporting and analytical abilities.
- Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize workflow effectively.
- Comfortable working under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
- Capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team.
