JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for implementing and directing the day-to-day process control and operational activities, plans and programs to ensure efficient operation and 100% environment compliance.

Includes the direction and management of area customers, expenses, staffing (internal & external), revenues, equipment resources and participation in the sales processes of the area.

SUCCESS FACTORS

  • Directly supervise employees as well as sub-contract services.
  • Interface with other business partners in evaluation and preparation of models and plans for new business.
  • Interpret operational data and make operational changes as needed.
  • Coordinate all maintenance / equipment activities.
  • Successfully interface with environmental and regulatory agencies as well as generator and haulers to ensure efficiency processing and delivery of material.
  • Achieve safety, compliance and operational budgetary goals.
  • Manage and track project monthly financials for area of responsibility. Make changes needed for improvement.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage, train, supervise and monitor performance of plant personnel to ensure safe and proper operation of equipment.
  • Monitors and controls plant operations in accordance with manufacturers O&M manuals, SOP's and established company policies and procedures.
  • Enforce and maintain company safety programs and procedures.
  • Thorough knowledge of processes and material handling / processes, operating procedures and standards, to properly instruct employees.
  • Frequent independent decision-making to ensure safe and proper operations are adhered.
  • Develop and maintain daily spreadsheets and operating reports relating to compliance monitoring and other reporting documentation.
  • Ensures that the facility operates within permit compliance, at / above its designed capacity.
  • Reports weekly status covering all processing and maintenance related activities to Director of Operations.
  • Exhibit at all times safe behavior and perform job in safe manner

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environmental, process work rapidly, set priorities, work under pressure and follow through with assigned tasks.
  • Ability to assist EHS&T Manager with development and administration of training programs for staff.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both orally and written.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCES

  • Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
  • 4 year Engineering or Environmental degree preferred.
  • 2-3 years management experience. MBA is a bonus.
  • Experience in power or steam generation, incineration, or environmental industry required.
  • Must have computer skills and experience with Word, Excel.
  • Strong organizational, time management and attention to detail required.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and state / federal safety rules and regulations preferred..
