The Quality Manager position provides the leadershipnecessary to establish and maintain quality levels of products fromthe supply base all the way through customer by driving aneffective quality system.
This role is the guardian of qualitycompliance and challenger of all functions across the value chainto drive Continuous Improvements support to Operations Supply Chainand Costumer Services while fostering a cross functional qualitycompliance and performance culture.
This role is responsible forthe leadership development implementation and management of all QAprograms and activities. They provide technical expertise andsupport to ensure compliance to ISO regulatory requirements andproduct quality;
utilizes tools such as auditing process evaluationtrend analysis to achieve continuous improvement and businessobjectives.
Description ofDuties andResponsibilities :
Overallresponsibility for product quality at plant through promotingCulture of Zero for quality throughout plant leads Material ReviewBoard and coordinate regular meetings and conducts Quality Trainingfor Area Managers operators other plantassociates.
Leads in thedocumentation and implementation of an ISO 9001based qualitymanagement system at the plant level and ensures that the QualityManagement System components and processes are current andmaintained to meet ISO and Southwirerequirements.
Identifies Key ProcessCharacteristics through the use of tools such as PFMEA s and DOEs.
Drive improvement of processcapabilities (Cpk s) working with equipment OEM s and processengineering.
Maintain processcapabilities by using process control tools such as SPC (X bar Rcharts) and PreControl.
Develops andmaintains process control by inspection plan where process is notcapable.
Drives implementation ofprocess control by using tools and technologies such as cameras andpokayoke to inhibit correct or highlight when an erroroccurs.
Works with plant operationsto lead and drive improvement in process efficiency and productquality. Drives problem solving tool through the organization bycoaching all plant personnel in effective root cause analysisinvestigation using tools such as fishbone fault tree analysis andturning failure off / on.
Assists PlantManager and Director of Quality in providing key process metricsand monthly review presentations.
Ensures calibration of measuring gages / testing equipment at eachlocation.
Assists in driving progresstoward prompt Supplier Claim resolution makes claim presentationsto Suppliers as needed (plant specific) and evaluates customerclaims pertaining to the Plant and works toward timely resolution.
Works with Plant Operations to determine root causes andcorrect.
Works with Sales and thecustomers on external rejections / technical issues for materialprocessed at the plant level.
LeadsMaterial Review Board meetings reviewing quality events to drivecorrective action and proper disposition of nonconformingmaterial.
Assists in producing andcompleting various certifications letters of conformance or PPAP tomeet customer needs.
Supervisesdevelops and coach QASupervisor / Technician / Engineer.
Otherjobrelated duties and special projects asassigned.
Supports deployment ofcompanywide systems such as SAP QualityManagement
Develop foster andmaintain relationships throughout the company through collaborationand teamwork to provide avenues for the continued success andgrowth at the localsite.
Requirements
Requirements :
Bachelor s Degree in Engineering with 5 years quality managementexperience in a manufacturing environment preferred or combinationof experience and education.
ProcessCapabilities and process control knowledge and experience withtools such as Statistical Process Control (SPC) FMEA CpK s andinspection plans required.
DOE Camera Inspection and PokaYokeexperience a plus.
Experience in ISO9001 : 2015 management systems compliance continuous improvement andstandard quality and operational excellence toolsrequired.
Problem Solving Tools witheffective root cause analysis knowledge and experiencerequired.
Highly articulate verbaland written communication skills professional appearance andpresentation style.
Highly motivatedselfstarter able to prioritize projects accept responsibility andfollow through without closesupervision.
Strong organizationalskills and the ability to effectively prioritize and balancemultiple projects.
Sense of urgencyand ability to work in a fast paced and high stressenvironment.
Ability to research andanalyze information and draw valid conclusions andrecommendations.
Desire tocontinually learn and expand knowledgebase.
ASQ Certified Quality Manager(CQM) or Certified Quality Engineer (CQM) or Six Sigmacertification is a plus.
Knowledge ofICEA AEIC UL and ASTM testing standards aplus.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturingtools a plus.
Previous experiencewith SAP QM a plus.
