MGS has an exciting opportunity for an Process Engineer Intern join our team.
As a Process Engineer Intern , you will support the Engineering Department with project work specific to plastic injection molding.
Student interns will engage in a 10 - 12-week internship opportunity in the summer of 2025 and will have an opportunity to be exposed to multiple technologies and business applications and will assist or lead the efforts of designated projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Know and follow all of the Company's safety rules, such as safe work practices and standard operating procedures.
- Serve as a good role model to employees for safe work practices and behavior by conducting yourself professionally, keeping in mind your own safety and the safety of others.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
- Assist with process development for new molds.
- Work on projects to improve ergonomics, safety, efficiency, and part profitability.
- Complete specific projects to help with better product flow
- Shadow different departments to understand duties of each area (Process Engineering, Mold Sampling, Process Techs, Tool room, etc.)
- Attend initial new job kick off meetings
- Function as support personnel for the Engineering Department.
- Maintain constant communication with supervisor with regards to all work assignments.
- Take meeting minutes / notes and distribute to proper parties per the approval of the supervisor.
- Any other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS :
- Third- or fourth-year student pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in plastics engineering, industrial engineering, or equivalent is required.
- Good understanding and ability to perform tasks and create documents using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook.
