Description
Our client is seeking a a highly organized and strategic-minded individual to join their team as the Director of Logistics.
In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company's logistics operations, ensuring the efficient movement of goods and materials.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement logistics strategies that drive operational excellence and support the overall business objectives.
As the Director of Logistics, you will play a crucial role in optimizing our supply chain, maximizing efficiency, and reducing costs.
You will develop and manage key supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and monitor performance metrics to ensure compliance with quality and service level requirements.
Additionally, you will lead a team of logistics professionals, providing guidance and support to drive continuous improvement and achieve operational targets.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement logistics strategies that align with company goals and objectives
- Oversee all aspects of the supply chain, including transportation, warehousing, and inventory management
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators to identify areas for improvement and drive operational efficiency
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and logistics service providers
- Negotiate contracts and manage procurement activities to ensure timely delivery of goods and materials
- Lead and develop a high-performing team, providing coaching and guidance to support professional growth
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve logistics-related issues and ensure smooth operations
Requirements
- Proven experience in logistics management, including transportation, warehousing, and inventory control
- Strong knowledge of supply chain processes and best practices
- Excellent leadership and people management skills
- Proficient in using logistics management software and systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Effective communication and negotiation skills
