Job Title : Biological Wastewater “A” Operator
Department : Operations
Location : Joplin, Missouri
Reports To : TBD
Wage Plan / Exemption : Exempt
Summary
Responsible for the technical aspects of plant waste water operations, compliance with state and federal operating regulations. Work is performed with considerable independence under the direction of the Environmental & Land Manager, subject to review through testing and reports.
Essential Duties / Responsibilities
- Responsible for ensuring the company is in compliance with external environmental regulations and standards and internal environmental policies and management systems
- Perform all aspects of sampling, monitoring and testing required to maintain compliance with Federal State and Local regulations governing the wastewater treatment process
- Manage all environmental reports required by laws, regulations, and corporate policies
- Complete annual reporting to include but not limited to wastewater, air and land permits
- Record results and prepare simple technical reports to comply with environmental regulations and standards
- Assess the environmental risk of activities and advise management of potential environmental impact
- Maintain environmental records and contribute to the preparation of accurate and timely environmental reports that are submitted internally and to external agencies
- Perform required environmental training for onsite personnel
- On call to respond to emergencies and breakdowns at the plant and pump stations.
- Conduct the necessary weekend checks of the treatment plant on a rotating basis.
- Serve as primary contact for governmental regulatory agencies
- Other duties as deemed appropriate by the company.
- Knowledge of activated sludge system.
- Knowledge of DAF.
- Knowledge of Clarifier.
- Knowledge of anaerobic digestor.
- Ability to make educated decisions based on water analysis.
Education / Experience
High School Diploma / GEDSouth Carolina Wastewater A CertificationExperience in environmental servicesGood organizational, teamwork, and leadership skillsGood oral and written communication skillsPerforming required analysesExperience in preparing and authoring technical reportsMS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook), PowerPoint; Familiarity and working knowledge of ArcGIS, AutoCAD, or other software is also a plusCore Values :
