Objective of the Position : Supports Business Unit by identifying areas of profit enhancement opportunities within existing and new business that are aligned with the mission, strategies and goals of the Company.
Essential Accountabilities : The position incumbent ensures, that
- Minimum Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, SCM, Logistics or related field
- 5+ years of experience with Continuous Improvement, Internal Logistics (material flow, tugger implementation, line side material presentation, buffer analysis, simulations etc.
- in automotive manufacturing in regards to cost reductions and and program profitability.
- Must have thorough understanding of cycle time reduction, waste reduction, yield improvement, productivity and throughput improvement
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (esp. Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Business acumen - understands business implications of decisions
Responsibilities :
- Planning, conduction and moderation of optimization workshops for current, developing and future programs. Including coaching and training.
- Material flow analysis / implementation, implementation of new Tugger Train routes and time cycles, implementing and usage of Flow Racks for Tugger Train components.
Material Flow Layout design for new business, setting up buffers & Supermarkets etc.
- Engage cross-functional teams and foster a culture of value analysis, value engineering, design to cost and continuous improvement using industry standard tools and methods including benchmarking, lean methodology, VAVE, VSM and other relevant continuous improvement tools.
- Recommend methods for improving worker efficiency and improving waste. Conduct time studies and be able to provide alternative solutions (i.
e. work-load balance, machine balance, layout rearrangement, material flow). Perform GAP analysis to identify deficiencies in business processes and programs, and recommend adjustments that directly impact company financials
Independent execution of complex calculations to determine costs (preparation for value analysis). Identify and support of regional value analysis, value engineering and cost reduction initiatives to deliver cost reduction and margin improvement.
Include target setting, idea generation, project leadership of initiatives, analysis, and reporting escalation / management of off-track initiatives.
Support BUAM Transformation Office projects (e.g. FIVE, STEP, Make vs Buy....etc.) Support and chase gap closure in order to ensure target achievements.
Preparation of top management presentations (Advisory Board, ECE, Group TO Leaders)
