JOB PURPOSE
To ensure that all Repair Station maintenance operations are accomplished within the Companys Quality System and Regulatory Requirements (e.
g., FAA, EASA, NAA, ISO 9000, etc.). Additionally, develop, direct, and coordinate the Quality Assurance Training and EHS Departments.
Ensures compliance with Environmental Health & Safety requirements such as Federal CFRs in Labor (29.1910, etc.) and Transportation (49.
172, etc.) County Air Quality Rules, water quality and hazardous waste.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Physical Demands : Requires sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Requires frequent walking, bending, stooping, squatting, climbing, and reaching above shoulder level.
Requires occasional crawling, crouching, kneeling, and balancing. Requires frequent lifting, carrying pushing or pulling weight up to 10 pounds.
Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
Equipment Operated : Standard office equipment.
Work Location : MZJ, TUS and ROW, Office, hangars, shops, Flightline / Storage.
Potential Hazards : Exposure to high intensity noise levels, changes in temperature, materials identified on Safety Data Sheets, working at heights or around moving machinery.
Protective Equipment Required : None.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Job Functions :
Develops and implements the strategic and operating plans which support the companys business and operational objectives.
Monitors the Internal Audit Program and confirms audits are performed to ensure the validity of existing quality policies and processes.
Ensures organizational compliance with Regulatory requirements.
Effectively plans for and utilizes Quality resources in all aspects of the Companys product cycle from initial design through delivery.
Continuously monitors all quality metrics to detect unfavorable variations that require immediate attention.
Directs resources and priorities in support of the development and implementation of systems that provide quality verification of processes and products.
Leads and manages implementation of the AS9100 Quality System.
Supports the Director of Quality Control as needed with the FAA (MIDO and FSDO offices) audits.
Ensures adequate training and education resources are available to develop required skills and enables career growth opportunities for personnel working in the Quality organization.
Coordinates with operations team to develop organizational training requirements on an annual basis.
Responsible for updating the Training Program Manual and submitting to the FAA for approval.
Oversees all organizational Occupational Health and Safety and Environmental Programs.
Responsible for the implementation of the SMS system.
SMS REQUIREMENTS
Will provide top-level resources and support to SMS compliance, FAA regulations, safe workplace initiatives / practices, and to eliminate health hazards.
Will consider all employee suggestions to propose solutions, and / or possible improvements for achieving a safer, healthier workplace.
Will monitor, measure and track safety objectives to ensure performance standards are met and to implement continuous improvement measures.
Qualifications
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities : Working knowledge of the FAA Regulatory Requirements for both Production Certificate and Repair Station environments.
Business acumen with strong written and verbal facilitation and presentation skills. Ability to support the organizational goals through the ongoing improvement of services or processes through continuous improvements.
Computer skills necessary to learn and / or operate word processing, spreadsheet, database, email, and web-based applications.
Interpersonal skills necessary to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals in all levels of the organization within a variety of departments.
Education / Training : Bachelors degree in Management, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
Experience : Typically, 10 years experience in Quality management. Typically 5 or more years in a manager role or leading large project teams.
