Job Overview

As part of the Clinical Resource (CR) Team, the Clinical Resource (CR) Nurse plans a key role in supporting bedside clinical teams in the delivery of family centered care.

The actions of the Clinical Resource Nurse reflect professional nursing practice with a team approach and holds an expectation to promote and maintain quality patient care, manage nursing operations, assist in teaching nursing staff, enforce procedures, policies, practices, and standards of the facility.

As an informal leader, the Clinical Resource Nurse builds and maintains relationships with multidisciplinary healthcare providers;

collects, monitors, and reports on quality-of-care outcome measures; escalates safety concerns and works with leadership to resolve.

The Clinical Resource Nurse serves as a clinical subject matter expert to team members on the Clinical Resource Team.

The Clinical Nurse Resource may begin their shift in one unit and based on a change in census and acuity be reallocated to a different unit to meet operational needs.

However, it is also possible for the Clinical Nurse Resource to experience extended periods of time in one department to offset long-term absences through the Months Program.

Qualifications

  • EDUCATION - Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
  • EXPERIENCE - Four years of nursing experience
  • EQUIVALENCY - None
  • CERTIFICATION(S) - BLS / CPR from the American Heart Association with at least 6 months left before expiration is required upon hire;

ACLS and PALS required within six months of hire

LICENSURE - Registered Nurse (RN).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Delivers patient and family centered nursing care one or more clinical areas while incorporating developmentally appropriate, culturally sensitive, evidence based care practices and methodologies.

Anticipates and responds to changes in patient outcomes in the provision of care.

  • Communicates and advocates patient values, preferences and expressed needs as part of the implementation of care plan, evaluation of care and assessment of patient / family learning needs.
  • Build and maintains strong working relationships with multidisciplinary healthcare providers to provide individualized patient / family care and education while minimizing risks to the patient during transitions of care.
  • Researches, compiles, and analyzes data and prepares case records, reports, and correspondence to facilitate communication, clinical decision making, error prevention, and care coordination.
  • Collects, monitors, and reports on quality of care outcomes and measures; participates in continuous evaluation and improvement of internal quality and safety processes, procedures, and performance measures.
  • Ensures compliance with clinical policies, procedures, and best practices in order to minimize the risk of harm to patients and providers.
  • Researches, identifies, and implements evidence based practice to improve the quality of care provided to patients / families.
  • Provides informal leadership and resource expertise to other regional float nurses, which includes mentoring and assistance with patients / families, completing peer evaluations, and providing emotional support.
  • Serves on department and hospital-wide committees and participates in or leads research or quality improvement projects as directed.

Salary Information

Annual Salary Range (Based on 40 hours worked per week) : $75,957.07 to $113,935.61

Hourly Salary Range : $36.52 to $54.78
