SUMMARY / SCOPE :
Recruitstudents to participate in the cycling program which involves mountain bike androad bike participation. The coach will supervise practices and schedule theteam to participate in competitive events throughout the state and region.
HSU JOB FAMILY CLASSIFICATION INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING :
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Directsconditioning of players to achieve maximum athletic performance.
Assessesplayer's skills and assigns team positions.
Provide coaching knowledge and support to the students that are involved inthe cycling program.
Supervise practices and training sessions for students throughout theschool year.
Organize and schedule competitive events for members of the cycling team toparticipate in throughout the school year.
Provide academic, spiritual and professional mentoring to thestudent-athletes on the team.
Work with the local cycling community on providing support for races andevents.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES :
Thereare no supervisory responsibilities for this position, except for studentworkers.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES (Language, Mathematical, Reasoning and Computer Skills) :
LANGUAGE SKILLS : Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules,operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to writeroutine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groupsof customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS : Ability to add and subtract two-digitnumbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to performthese operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume,and distance.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE :
Bachelor'sdegree from four-year college or university and several years relatedexperience and / or training in cycling required.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS :
Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certificationsrequired (or must be obtained).
